Shared Care Scotland is looking for an enthusiastic individual to help us develop the Respitality project. Respitality connects Scotland’s hospitality sector with organisations that support unpaid carers to create opportunities for carers to have much needed time-out from their responsibilities.
Respitality has been running since 2015 and is live in 9 Scottish local authority regions. The Respitality Developer supports local delivery partners to recruit hotels, guest houses and other hospitality businesses to help us offer a range of complimentary breaks to carers. The Respitality brand is becoming well-known and it is our ambition continue the momentum to grow Respitality into a Scotland-wide programme.
The development of Respitality in Scotland is being overseen by Shared Care Scotland, working in partnership with the hospitality industry and local carer support services. The post has been funded by Scottish Government on an annual basis since 2015.
Shared Care Scotland is a small but ambitious national charity with a strong reputation for collaboration and creativity. We engage with a wide range of stakeholders to improve the quality and availability of short breaks (respite care) across Scotland for the benefit of families, unpaid carers and people with support needs.
