The importance of quality, reliability and consistency in short break service provision is highlighted time and again by carers and those who use services as being key to good outcomes. Meaningful involvement in planning and service design are also important to carers experience of short breaks. To support continued efforts in these areas, Shared Care Scotland has brought together a selection of materials to help providers and those commissioning services to check they are making the best use of available resources, and delivering the outcomes people want.
In the 'Rest Assured' section you'll find a Discussion Framework document to help facilitate local reviews of how respite care and short breaks are provided currently, and to identify ways in which it might be improved.
In the 'How are we doing?' section we have provided links to various resources that we hope will help with performance measurement and evaluation.
We are always keen to hear about other evaluation resources that people are using and would be pleased to add these to our library for the benefit of others.
