The Learning Exchange
Shared Care Scotland is a charity that works to see a Scotland where everyone who receives or provides unpaid care can live happy and fulfilled lives with the support they need to take regular, quality breaks from the demands of their caring situations.
As part of that we organise learning exchanges that are funded by the Short Breaks Fund in order to provide opportunities for the organisations in receipt of grant funding to share learning and good practice, and to inspire new ways of delivering and measuring successful short breaks.

Please note that these Learning Exchange events are for funded projects and priority will therefore be given to staff from projects that are currently being funded via the Short Breaks Fund. If there is additional space we may open courses/events to other people.
The following events are taking place:
Time to Live - Sharing Practice Network
Date: 13th Feb 2013
Location: Edinburgh Training & Conference Centre
Who is it for: People / projects who have received Time to Live funding from the Short Breaks Fund
Content / Purpose: To provide oppotunities for projects to share learning and good practice and to inspire new ways of delivering and measuring successful Time to Live projects.

Brilliant Breaks Conference
Date: 21st May 2013
Location: Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh
Who is it for: Short breaks service providers; local authority commissioners and planners; parents of disabled children; policy makers; professionals from the world of disability; independent funders
Content/Purpose: Using examples of good practice and innovation generated through the Better Breaks and Take a Break grant programmes, the aim of the conference is to inspire imagination and fresh thinking in the design, planning and commissioning of short breaks that support families with a disabled child
