Service Providers Network
Shared Care Scotland facilitates various networks to help support the planning, commissioning and development of short break and respite services. The Service Providers Network is aimed at people with day-to-day management responsibility for short break services, normally at a local level. The purpose of this network is explained below.
- To meet others involved with managing short break services to exchange knowledge, views and experiences;
- To learn from each other’s experience and find out what works in different service areas;
- To explore the opportunities and challenges facing service providers and consider different options for reshaping services to respond to changing needs, priorities and expectations;
- To share views on the need for national and/or regional support networks to help you and the services you represent stay in touch with developments.If you would like to attend please complete and return the attached form.
In the last week of June we are holding three regional workshop sessions for managers of short break and respite care services to allow them to reflect on their service whilst meeting other people in similar roles to share ideas and information.
As everyone prepares for the changes that self directed support will bring, the purpose of this Glasgow event is to bring managers of short break services together for a workshop day to reflect on, and talk about service improvement as well as any matters of interest that they find relevant.
Who is this aimed at?
It is aimed at managers of short break / respite care services from the third sector and local authorities, and is an opportunity to meet other providers of short break services and to discuss and plan for developments in the sector.
What will happen on the day?
This is a workshop session. A significant part it is being structured around discussion and reflection on your own service and so people attending are asked to be prepared to take part in this.
Full details will be circulated prior to the event.
