Creative Breaks Programme - Funded Projects

Creative Breaks is funded by the Scottish Government as part of their commitment to the development of Short Breaks for the benefit of carers and those they care for.
The programme will distribute a little under £1m of grants to third sector organisations for the provision of breaks.
The purpose of the Creative Breaks Grant Programme is to improve the range, choice and availability of short breaks so that carers and the people they care for have a better quality of life and feel better supported in their caring relationship.
We know that having a short break can make an enormous difference to carers and the people they care for by providing the space to rest, to be themselves, to pursue a hobby, catch up with friends or just relax and recharge. For some people a short break is something they enjoy having together, and for others it is enjoying quality time apart. In particular, we are keen for this fund to be an opportunity to pilot different approaches to the development of personalised short breaks or to embed existing good practice, to support the redesign of services and to stimulate the exchange of good practice.
For more information about the Short Breaks Fund contact the Short Breaks Fund Manager on 01383 622 462.
Below is a list of projects that were funded in the Creative Breaks Programme in October 2012. Please contact the individual projects if you require further information.
Any project with this symbol TTL has funding available for individual carers to create their own breaks. Individuals should contact these organisations directly to get details of the application process.
