The service can be accessed via social work, health or education. A comprehensive assessment must be presented to the shared care panel and if felt appropriate a referral will be made to Gillburn Rd.
This service is for families who live in Dundee City local authority area.
Gillburn Road Short Break Centre is a purpose built single level building. The building has four single bedrooms with wash hand basins. The sitting room, dining room and kitchen have domestic type furnishings. We have a sensory room, mini gym/activity room, room with access to computer, playstation etc.
Special diets are catered for and if required cultural needs would be met.
We offer opportunities to children and young people with disabilities. We support them in their day activities ie visits to parks, cinemas, eating out etc. We provide inhouse activities such as arts and crafts, baking etc. We actively encourage and promote independent living skills and at all times strive to meet the needs of each young person.
