Based in the beautiful South Lakes in Cumbria - — We provide holidays for families with seriously and terminally ill children (0-17 yrs) — Holidays are for immediate family members and registered carers only — With the exception of Category A applications, our maximum family size is limited to 2 adults and 3 children UNDER 18 years of age, inc babies.

Holidays are applied for through an application process. You can request an application form by emailing Vicky.

Type of accommodation:

Molly's place is a two bedroom luxury holiday caravan, sleeping up to two adults and three children (inc babies) and is fully adapted including wet room with shower and ramp access to decking. The twin bedroom has sliding door access and an accessible wet room. The double master bedroom (for adults) is NOT accessible. Caravan has adjacent parking. Mabel's place is a two bedroom luxury holiday caravan, sleeping up to two adults and two children (inc babies). This is a non-adapted accommodation but has ramp access to decking. Caravan has adjacent parking.

Full service description:

Alice’s Escapes are committed to providing free holidays for families with a terminally ill or seriously ill child. The aim is to give this opportunity to all such families to ‘escape’ and enjoy some peace and relaxation in the beautiful Lake District. Holidays are limited to one per family. We are happy to support term-time applications by providing a supporting letter for your child's school.

We must stress that we are primarily aimed at families with terminally-ill (in receipt of DS1500) and seriously-ill children, rather than life-long conditions and / or disabilities. We do not have hoists, electric beds or any other specialised equipment.
