Type of accommodation:

The accommodation is a spacious wheelchair accessible bungalow. The people we support have full access to the lounge, kitchen/dining room and shower/bathroom. All rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. There are two bedrooms, both of which are bright and tastefully decorated. Bedrooms are lockable and each room has a set of drawers that are lockable, giving service users the opportunity to secure their own personal belongings.

Cultural needs catered for:

Each person using the respite service has a support plan geared to their individual needs and abilities, which ensures the service we provide meets the requirements for the respite. We use a key worker approach, where designated members of staff, with the agreement of the individual and/or family, take primary responsibility for planning and co-ordination of support needs. The team support individuals in ensuring their personal, social, emotional, health and spiritual needs are met whilst in the respite service through the implementation of the above support plans.

Ellon Respite Care Service provides short term care respite breaks for adults and children with a physical and learning disability and is available to both adults and children from 5 years old. The service is provided by Inspire in conjunction with Aberdeenshire Council Social Work. The service aims to provide: Flexible support tailored to individual needs Homely environment Household activities such as baking, cooking, laundry, shopping Leisure pursuits such as home based arts and crafts and swimming Opportunity to experience new activities and meet with different people Range of activities to promote and expand development Overnight 24 hour care support for up to two people
