Full service description:

We support adults over the age of sixteen and mainly, but not exclusively, people with learning difficulties. We support people with autism, early onset dementia, Prader Willi syndrome and other physical and medical conditions. We have a short breaks service which currently supports adults to have a short break in Kelso and the surrounding area. The short breaks range from someone being supported in a holiday property and still attending their regular weekly activities, to someone being supported in a holiday property and going on day trips to other towns and cities of interest. We work with the person and those closest to them to create a Good Life Plan. This includes working in partnership with social work and health to ensure the Good Life Plan includes everything the individual needs us to know in order to provide the right support. The plan will reflect the person’s wishes, needs and preferences and be focussed on meaningful outcomes identified by the individual and/or their families and carers. All our plans are regularly reviewed to ensure that we take account of any changes the person would like to make, as well as changes to their ongoing needs.

What is included/not included in the price of the break:

Meals taken in the house are included. Activities, visits to cafes and meals out are not included.

Any other information you think people might find helpful:

With sufficient notice respite breaks can be planned/booked in advance to allow a carer to arrange a break away from their caring role.
