St Bernards Club is a registered care service for people 65 years and over with a diagnosis of dementia. Open from Monday to Friday we offer opportunities for you to socialise and have fun through various activities. We offer a safe and friendly environment for those who enjoy company and who may at time feel isolated and alone.

Referrals are accepted from social services, health professionals, families, carers and from individuals themselves. Application forms can be downloaded from the Lifecare Website at www.lifecare-edinburgh.org.uk or please call the service for more options.

Full service description:

St Bernards Club is a registered care service for people 65 years and over with a diagnosis of dementia. Open from Monday to Friday we offer opportunities for you to socialise and have fun through various activities. We offer a safe and friendly environment for those who enjoy company and who may at time feel isolated and alone. St Bernards Club offer a range of activities including reminiscence, music, singing, craft activities, quizzes, crosswords and music and movement. Our garden is very popular and offers great outdoor recreation activities.  

Price information:

A significant proportion of the costs are subsidised by the Department of Health and Social Care, for the part not subsidised we do ask a monthly contribution which is reviewed anually. Please contact the service to discuss this.

What is included/not included in the price of the break:

Meals during the day include, morning tea/coffee and toast, two course lunch with various options and then afternoon tea and biscuits. We do offer outings and special activities from time to time for which we may ask a small extra charge to cover the costs.

Any other information you think people might find helpful:

We use mini buses in specified geographical areas and seat allocation is determined on availability in those areas. We can collect from home between 9.15am and 10.15am, then take you home again between 3pm and 4pm. If you do live outwith these areas and St Bernards Club has spaces available then you can still join us by making your own travel arrangements. Please speak to the service to make sure there are places available. We encourage carers/relatives the chance to attend meetings to discuss care issues relating to the relative/client including the six monthly reviews or just for a chat.
