People may access our service through social work, community nursing staff, GP or may contact us directly.

Full service description:

The service can be provided to allow carers to have a short break (also called respite) or to provide care and support to someone living alone. The cared-for person may be of any age and have any kind of disability or illness or health-related needs. 2-3 hour home based respite. In some cases it may be possible to take the cared for person on a local outing. This would enable the carer to have some respite in their own home. The Scheme has a Co-ordinator and employs trained Home Care Attendants in all areas who are able to go into the homes of those who need care and allow the Carer some time away from their caring responsibilites. We have recently teamed up with Macmillan Cancer Support to develop two special joint projects, one in Islay & Jura and one in Mid Argyll & Kintyre.  You can find out more by contacting us. Price information:

If core funding is available there will be no charge. Otherwise prices on application.

What is included/not included in the price of the break:

If client is taken on an outing transport charges and incidental expenses (parking fees etc) will be charged at cost.

We only provide our service for people living in Mid Argyll, Kintyre, Islay and Jura areas of Argyll and Bute.
