Brief description:

Respite for the carer - giving the carer that much needed break to take some ‘me time’ through, befriending - taking the cared for person into the community on outings of their choice, escort service eg accompanying the visually impaired person to college classes, social events, personal care ie help with feeding and bathing and palliative care. We also undertake domiciliary and personal care tasks. Our main aim is to relieve the carer and take on their duties in their absence. We also take clients out for socialisation to allow the carer time to themselves.

Full service description:

Crossroads Caring Scotland is a charity with over 35 years’ experience of providing support for vulnerable people and their carers. We support people of all ages regardless of their illness or disability. Whether the person being cared for is a loved one living with terminal cancer, an elderly relative with dementia, or a young person living with a disability requiring life-long care, our highly trained and professional staff are well equipped to provide the right support at the right time.

Individual breaks would be calculated according to the distance for carers to travel and all other relevant factors.

We can provide care in holiday accommodation (hotels, self catering), where a carer is available in that area. Crossroads Stewartry have an established, well trained staff, who are capable of dealing with all types of health issues in the absence of the carer. Staff all have SVQ2 certificates in health and social care.
