Brief description:

Space & Broomhouse Hub offers services across young carers, youth befriending, Bookbug, mental health and wellbeing, elderly befriending, youth counselling, adult carers and lunch clubs for those with dementia. Space Kitchen was established in 1997 and was formed to provide education, training and work experience in a catering and hospitality environment to disadvantaged groups of people within Edinburgh.

Full service description:

Space Kitchen provides individual training and development and social support to a dedicated team of thirty volunteers.  The volunteers come from all areas of the community: long and short term unemployed, adults with physical and/or learning disabilities, adults with mental health difficulties and school or college students on work experience.  Placements are between six months and a year.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Helene van der Ploeg on 0131 455 7731/07597 365 025 or email business@broomhousecentre.org.uk We provide a catering lunch service for the Beacon Club Dementia Day Care Service and a Special Needs Lunch Club.
