The cabin aims to offer a flexible, individual respite service for clients with a diversity of needs in a friendly homely environment. A seven-bedroomed home-from-home that serves as a safe and stimulating base for exploring Ayrshire and beyond. The Cabin offers week-long breaks tailored to the interests and support needs of individual guests.

There are seven single bedrooms, two of which have ensuite facilities. The social areas of The Cabin include two lounges which look out onto the gardens and there is a patio area off the kitchen where barbeques are held in the summer. The kitchen and laundry room have plenty of space. Personal laundry will be done in the Cabin by staff or yourself if you prefer. You will have your own bedroom with your own key. There is also more locking space in your room. There is a range of specialist disabled facilities. Mealtimes are flexible and the menus are varied. All meals are prepared in the Cabin and you can help if you wish.

Full service description:

There are always at least three members of staff on duty and staff are available throughout the night. People staying in The Cabin have a range of day activities to choose from either in Hansel or in the local community. We also provide respite services on behalf of North Ayrshire Council at Taigh Mor in Beith and at Craig Tara for South Ayrshire Council. We have a varied staff team including the manager and an assistant manager - you will usually meet some of the staff before you come to visit. In Hansel there is a lovely tea room and visitors seem to enjoy spending some time there. There is also lots to do in Ayrshire - recreational opportunities and a great range of clubs to try. Each day there will be different choices which could include a trip to the cinema, a visit to Edinburgh, ten pin bowling or shopping. Some days you may choose to stay at home - try your hand at cooking, baking, making your own meals, playing games, listening to music, taking part in sensory groups or just relaxing in the house. If you have something special that you would like to do during your stay we will do our best to make it happen.

Included in the price - meals, transport costs for outings, laundry and in house activities. Not included - the cost of activities such as the cinema, bowling and spending money.
