At the Eric Liddell Centre our Befrienders provide a supportive relationship to the Carers. Befrienders encourage Carers, through building a trusting relationship, to gain confidence and build self-esteem which in turn promotes wellbeing. Befrienders also help Carers to become more engaged within the community in which they live, or simply to have a break from caring for a little while. Befriending is built around what the Carer needs from the relationship. Carers can decide what they would like to do when they meet their Befriender and for how long.
