Projects highlighted in orange and labelled ‘Time to Live’ have funding available for individual carers to create their own short breaks. Please contact these organisations directly to find out what funding is available and how to apply.

Edinburgh City
The Yard Adventure Centre - £17,000
Funding Period: 2015
Awarded funding in 2015 to continue three youth clubs for young people aged 12-18 with additional support needs. The clubs run on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night for 48 weeks of the year. Each evening is slightly different; Monday night is for teens with very complex needs, Tuesday is just for girls and most of them have learning disabilities and the Thursday is for young people on the autistic spectrum.
Multi Cultural Family Base - £6,343
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to continue to provide the Yolo Sistas Project, offering a weekly after school support group for BME girls aged 10-15 years with caring responsibilities living in Edinburgh. The group offers a programme of activities including, arts and crafts, cookery and games, the girls can try new activities and build friendships and support networks.
Milan Senior Welfare Organisation - £6,642
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to continue their fortnightly carers support group offering a wide range of topics and training sessions, including dementia training, health & safety, food hygiene and stress management. The group is open to BME carers who live in Edinburgh and The Lothians.
Support in Mind Scotland - £40,320
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide individual grants of up to £300 to carers so that they can plan and fund a short break. The grants are available to carers living in Scotland and who care or an adult with a mental health condition.
Time to Live
Corstorphine Dementia Project - £8,925
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide a twice monthly teatime club for people with dementia and their carers living in Edinburgh, where they can enjoy fish supper with tea and cake, after the meal there are opportunities for games, activities and socialising. Transport is provided.

Down’s Syndrome Scotland - £20,681
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide individual grants of up to £300 to carers of adults with Down’s Syndrome and who live in Scotland, to plan and fund a short break of their choice.
Time to Live
The Broomhouse Centre - £9,482
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide residential activity breaks for young carers & adult carers living in Edinburgh and care for an adult with a disability.
Care for Carers - £4,880
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide the Stepping Out Astronomy Residential Breaks Programme for carers of adults, offering a programme of outdoor activities, including woodland walking retreats and space science.
PASDA - £8,741
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to establish a carer community gardening project at Craigie’s Farm near South Queensferry. They aim to create an inspiring friendly community gardening environment to complement their existing carers support groups.
Autism Initiatives - £5,041
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to contribute towards residential activity breaks for adults with autism in an outdoor centre in Speyside. Adults are supported during the stay and a programe of activities are available including kayaking, mountain biking and orienteering.
