Funding Directory
On this page we bring together all the funds that individuals can apply to for money to pay for a short break that we come across when dealing with requests for information.
We try hard to keep this up to date and we check the details every six months, but criteria often change, and money is used up. Please always speak or write to the fund you are interested in for full up to date information.
Any project labelled ‘Time to Live’ and coloured orange is a project funded through the Creative Breaks Programme of the Short Breaks Fund.

The Time to Live project for Highland is called ‘Time 2 Be’ and is operated by Connecting Carers. It provides small grants to individual carers to help them take a break. Carers of adults (aged 21 and over) and young carers (caring for children or adults) are eligible to apply.

Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Services Carers Hub
The Time to Live project for Perth & Kinross is called Time4Me and is operated by PKAVS Carers Hub. It provides small grants to individual carers to help them take a break. Carers of adults (aged 21 and over) and young carers (caring for children or adults) are eligible to apply.

The Time to Live project for Renfrewshire is called ‘Creative Breaks’ and is operated by Renfrewshire Carers Centre. It provides small grants to individual carers to help them take a break. Carers of adults (aged 21 and over) and young carers (caring for children or adults) are eligible to apply.

Scotland Wide
The Ogilvie Trust (The Margaret Champney Rest and Holiday Fund)
Provides small grants toward a break for individuals who care for others to have a break completely away from the person whom they normally care for or where the carer and cared for wish to holiday together. May also consider family holidays in the UK where one or more members of the family are substantially disabled and where the Margaret Champney Rest & Holiday Fund has funds available.

MND Scotland
This grant aims to help give carers and patients a break from their usual routine. The grant could be used to give couples or families time together, or for the carer or person with MND to have time out to themselves. Grants of up to £1,000 may be awarded and can go towards covering the costs of things like a holiday or short trip, regular time out to meet friends, pursue a hobby, such as gym sessions or driving lessons or just relax.
