The Learning Exchange was created in parallel with the launch of the Short Breaks Fund and has two main aims:
- to develop a knowledge bank to demonstrate the range and effectiveness of different short break services
- to create a range of assets and deliver learning and sharing events
The knowledge bank consists of:
- A collection of short break funded project reports structured to reflect the nature of the short break and what organisations delivered together with learning points and top tips for others. These reports can be found at the Short Breaks Stories website
- A collection of inspiring stories called Short Break: Short Stories. The stories are told in the carers own words to engage, inspire and demonstrate the diversity and power of a short break and the impact they have had on their life.
In consultation with staff from funded organisations a set of tookits have been developed. These aim to help funded organisations through all stages of the funding cycle, from consultation to evaluation, and beyond by becoming sustainable for the long term. All toolkits are available in the resources section of the website.
To further increase collaboration and inspire new ways of delivering and measuring successful short breaks, learning and sharing events are organised at venues around the country. Current Learning Exchange events can be found on the events page.
