A message to our Respitality friends
This is a very challenging time for the hospitality and tourism sector in Scotland, and we at Shared Care Scotland wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you, and send you our very best wishes.
As you have been there for us (and for carers), we wanted you to know that we are also here for you.
You, your family, or your employees may find themselves looking after vulnerable family members or partners, due to underlying health conditions or disability. You are not alone. Many thousands are providing this care with such love and compassion but nonetheless it can be physically and mentally demanding.
Despite the lockdown situation, all local carer services are continuing to support carers who are needing help. They are there with information and advice, and also many can offer phone and online social contact to help those who are feeling particularly isolated at this time.
If you think any of these services would be helpful to you or others known to you, then please don’t hesitate to be in touch and we’ll do what we can to connect you up. My contact details are provided at the end. Care Information Scotland also provides a detailed list of all carer centres and young carers services across Scotland.

Finally, our friends at the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland have produced a very helpful app that aims to keep you engaged with industry news over this difficult period, and connects to a range of opportunities to help you progress your skills and development. This is being updated on a weekly basis. You can download the app by clicking this link from your mobile phone: https://store.criton.com/hit-scotland/
I hope it won’t be too long before we all get to enjoy Scotland’s wonderful hospitality again, and its beautiful scenery. In the meantime, please do take care and stay safe.
With best regards,
Don Williamson
Chief Executive
