How It Works & Current Respitality Locations
How It Works
Respitality is a Scottish Government funded project and it is coordinated nationally by Shared Care Scotland. As the carers organisations hold the trusted relationships with unpaid carers in the communities and build relationships with local businesses, Respitality in Scotland is delivered as a social franchise. This means that the model of Respitality is delivered on the ground by local carers organisations that “commit” to delivering it, whilst Shared Care Scotland provide ongoing practical support to the organisations to ensure Respitality thrives.
Carers can access Respitality if their local authority area delivers Respitality at a local level.
Businesses are welcome to donate a break regardless of their location. Breaks can take the form of overnight stays, but can also extend to dining, sports events, concert tickets, beauty treatments etc.
How to donate
Businesses can contact any of the organisations below to offer a break to a specific geographical area. Alternatively, if they would like to offer a break to any carer across Scotland they can contact Shared Care Scotland directly on 01383 622462 or Kerry.firstname.lastname@example.org
