We are recruiting!
Would you like to make a real difference to people in Scotland who care for a relative, friend or neighbour?
It is estimated that there are 788,000 carers in Scotland and that 44,000 are under the age of 18. These figures are stark, but help is at hand.
We are a small but ambitious national charity with a strong reputation for collaboration and creativity. We engage with a wide range of stakeholders to improve the quality and availability of short breaks (respite care) across Scotland for the benefit of families, unpaid carers and people with support needs.
Respitality seeks to connect carers’ organisations with hospitality, leisure and tourism businesses who are willing to donate short-breaks or services to carers. The project is supported by the Scottish Government and co-ordinated nationally by Shared Care Scotland.
We are currently looking for a Respitality Developer to assist us in driving forward this important project. In this role you will develop relationships with the hospitality, leisure and tourism sector and with the carers’ sector. You will increase and develop the number of businesses currently donating to the project and will work with carers’ centres across Scotland to encourage them to deliver the project locally.
You will be a skilled communicator and negotiator with a keen eye for new opportunities. You will be an experienced, pro-active, confident individual who is also tactful and sensitive. You may come from a background in hospitality or care and be looking for a role where you can utilise your skills for the benefit of carers.
If you’re a driven, enthusiastic and professional individual, Respitality needs you!
