Full service description:

Dorward House provides respite care to encourage older people, or their carers, to have a break from routine. This is a dedicated unit with fully en-suite bedrooms, a separate sitting / dining room, television, and small kitchen facility.  People coming for respite can use these facilities or are very welcome to join the rest of the residents in the main house for meals, entertainment, activities and company. As well as the respite facility we also have 28 mainstream bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, and an eight place fully en-suite high dependency unit for people who are physically or mentally more frail. Access to community nursing service and GP service if required. Respite breaks can be booked ahead of time and it is always best to check availability with us as soon as you have dates in mind.

What is included/not included in the price of the break:

Full board and laundry services included in break. There is a choice of menu and meals can be served in the dining room, or if requested, in your own room. We will ensure that drinks and snacks are provided throughout the day and on request. All necessary personal care included. Extras include - hairdresser, newspapers, dry cleaning.

With sufficient notice respite breaks can be planned/booked in advance to allow a carer to arrange a break away from their caring role.
