Brief description:

Daldorch Short Breaks is a bespoke residential respite service, catering for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder. As part of the National Autistic Society all workers are experienced in supporting people with autism. Based in East Ayrshire we have access to a variety of local facilities including country parks and local beaches.  Short Breaks are available from one night to a maximum of four weeks.

How do people access your service:

Most referrals come though local authority Social Work services, but we welcome enquiries direct from families wishing to make use of their Self Directed Support budget.

Type of accommodation:

We have 4 single bedrooms. A bathroom and shower room. Shared living room and a private garden within the grounds of Daldorch House School. Guests have access to all facilities available in the school; gym hall; activities room; relaxation room; swing park and large meadow area.

Our workers will support each individual with regard to their spiritual and cultural needs.

Full service description:

Daldorch Short Breaks is supported by experienced workers fully trained by the National Autistic Society. We support people from the local area on a regular basis, and those from further afield three or four times a year for longer visits.  Any person (aged 8-21) with autism can use our short breaks service, whether they attend Daldorch or not.  We offer a wide range of activities on our short breaks, including: Walks in the local area Day trips to the beach and to parks Swimming in local pools our Meadow Cooking, art and leisure activities within the campus. Visits can be tailored to meet individual needs and interests.

Price information:

The cost of visits are calculated and agreed with the funder before the visit commences and are tailored to individual needs.

What is included/not included in the price of the break:

Our basic cost includes support, accommodation and in-house catering. The cost of additional activities & eating out is not included.
