Full service description:

Respite Sitter - Children are cared for in their own home by fully vetted and assessed Respite Sitters for a few hours to allow a parent time to themselves. The Respite Sitter will have an introduction with the parents before the respite sessions begin, and consult with children for choices of activities. Respite Care - Children are cared for at the home of fully vetted and approved Volunteer Respite Carers. Periods of respite can vary from a few hours through to overnight care. Parents take their children to the carer’s home at the time previously agreed and collect them at the end of the session. Parents will meet the carer in their home before any respite begins, except in emergency situations when this is not possible. Emergency situations will come from Social Work who will contact us for services rather than accommodate children. Family Support - Family Support Services are offered to parents living within the North East / East End of Glasgow and who have a child/children under the age of 16 years. In partnership with Geeza Break, FASS aims to assist with preventing / reducing statutory involvement by working with clients to develop skills such as parenting skills, day to day living skills and confidence. This is done through intensive one-to-one and group work services by FASS workers.
