Buccleuch and St Margarets Care Centre
Buccleuch Unit - Within walking distance of Hawick High Street and in the West End area of the town, Buccleuch House is a residential care home for older people. Now the original character and beauty of the building is a stunning backdrop for the care home which has 18 single bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities.
Buccleuch House has undergone recent extensive refurbishment and redecoration. Modern facilities ensure the safety and dignity of residents, whatever their individual needs.
St. Margaret's Unit - St Margaret’s Nursing home in Hawick is in the West End area of the town within walking distance of the town centre. The building, and that of the nearby Buccleuch residential care home, was originally built as a Dominican Convent in the early 1900s. The large house became a nursing home for older people twenty years ago and St Margaret’s no longer has direct religious links. The home’s 30 rooms all have en-suite bathroom facilities.
Our aim at St Margaret’s is to create a homely atmosphere coupled with the security and specialist nursing requirements that individuals may have. We run a varied programme of activities for residents to join in with as and when they choose. Our regular visitors include musicians and entertainers and, for those who prefer peace and quiet, we have dedicated lounges set aside for relaxation.
