Brief description:

Buddies provide community-based play/leisure, social and recreational opportunities for children and young people with additional support needs, giving independence, choice and the opportunity to be valued as individuals allowing children and families to lead as normal lives as possible. We also provide - Adventure/Creative breaks- these are 5 days/4 nights and completely organised to meet individual needs. All of these services are for individuals affected by disability and travel to various locations throughout the UK such as Glencoe, Edinburgh, Blackpool, Aberdeen and Aviemore. Mini-breaks - These are Friday-Sunday and available upon request and booked around the needs of each individual who takes part.

Premises are a ground level centre with two secure entry doors, secure car park with 2 disabled bays, 3 playrooms for services for people affected by disabilities, 4 rooms for nursery use, 1 snack area, 2 kitchens, 2 cleaners stores, multiple store cupboards, disabled access toilets, access to secure garden areas through playrooms, 5 offices and staff area.

Full service description:

We also provide the following services: After school clubs, evening youth and young adult youth clubs, and a Sunday afternoon club - term-time only. Separate holiday clubs both for adults and under-19’s which run during school/college breaks. Community outreach - this is a 50 week service day, evening, and weekends according to need and tailored to meet individual requirements. A range of escort duties- to and from schools, colleges, day centres and respite care centres as required. We also have a nursery which has a 0-2 room, 2-3 room, and 3-5 room. We accept applications for children aged 6 weeks-5 years. All places available by direct contact, and our 3-5 room runs in partnership with Glasgow City Council.

Prices for each service depend on the level of support required. An individual assessment of needs is carried out prior to admission. Please contact us directly for further information.

What is included/not included in the price of the break:

Adventure breaks include - transport to and from destination and transport over the break. Full 24 hour staff cover, all meals, all accommodation and a range of activities and outings.
