Brief description:

Following a year and a half’s closure, owing to the covid-19 pandemic, The Prestonfield and District Neighbourhood Workers Project has announced the gradual re-opening of services. The Neighbourhood Project is a charity organisation, founded by Prestonfield activists, which focuses on care for the elderly. Services include a Lunch Club, Day Care, Social Groups, and a Men’s Group.

Full service description:

<strong>Services include a <em>Lunch Club</em>, <em>Day Care</em>, <em>Social Groups</em>, and a <em>Men’s Group</em>.</strong> Some of these activities can be funded by a City of Edinburgh Health and Social Care grant, but the Centre now has a number of vacant places which could be funded by people in receipt of <a href="https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/paying-care/get-direct-payment-1/1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Direct Payment</a> or by Private Payment. <strong>If this is of interest to you the Centre asks you to please contact the Project Office on</strong> <div id="click_to_dial_wrapper"> <strong><a title="Click to dial with gloCOM" href="glocom://01316207222">0131 620 7222</a></strong>. </div> Additional Services which the Centre is also continuing include: <em><strong>Personal Footcare</strong></em> service; Replacing of batteries in, and undertaking small repairs to, <em><strong>Hearing Aids</strong></em>; <em><strong>Shopping</strong></em> service; and <em><strong>Befriending</strong></em> service. There are charges for some services but others are provided free in the community.

We are a small local voluntary organisation, managed by an annually elected management group consisting of project clients, relatives of clients and older people from the community of south Edinburgh.
