Brief description:

We are a residential conference & holiday centre and a community venue run by Christians - for everyone. Our centre is a well equipped venue for training, a welcoming guest house for visitors to the beauty of Pitlochry, an accessible home from home for disabled, chronically ill and disadvantaged guests and the locals use us too for community activities.

Type of accommodation:

6 accessible en-suite bedrooms for B&B: 4 wheelchair accessible - 3 family & 1 twin/double 2 ambulant disabled - both twins. Accessible self-catering apartment comprising 3 accessible en-suite bedrooms, lounge & adapted kitchen diner with rise & fall worktop & mid-level appliances. We have bed raisers, toilet raisers, commodes, a wheeled zimmer and 2 wheelchairs to lend if needed. Pitlochry Shop Mobility can provide electric scooters if required.

Cultural needs catered for:

Special diets no problem. As well as English, staff speak French, German, Brazilian Portuguese. International volunteers in summer add to this list. The church next door is available for prayer and staff are happy to offer spiritual support if asked. Bibles and Christian books available.

Full service description:

We have 6 accessible en-suite bedrooms in one location so groups of disabled people can come to stay as well as individuals and families. As an inclusive venue our accessible accommodation is part of a bigger complex with standard accommodation on our first floor and all holidaymakers have the opportunity to meet and mix, especially at breakfast. The apartment is available all year round and the B&B at Easter and from July to October. Group accommodation is also available all year round but please book well ahead. As an inclusive venue, we aim to treat everyone with kindness & respect and are always happy to help.

What is included/not included in the price of the break:

B&B includes room and continental breakfast with cereal, fruit, yoghurts, cheeses, cold meats, fruit juice, tea & coffee and toast with home made jam, honey, chocolate spread etc. Self catering Apartment includes 1 family room with wheelchair en-suite, 2 twin rooms with ambulant en-suites, adapted and equipped kitchen with rise & fall worktop & mid-level appliances, and living area with TV/DVD. There is ramped entry. Electricity, towels & bedding are included in price. Cots & highchairs available. Ready meals can be supplied as extras. Asda & Tesco deliver here. Free parking is usually available.

Situated in the heart of beautiful Highland Perthshire the Atholl Centre is perfect for short breaks as there are so many things to do around here -beautiful scenery, outdoor activities, history, theatre, art & music, cafes & restaurants galore and kids activities. The staff here are more than happy to help you plan your excursions and will recommend accessible activities. We're easy to get to too. We're just off the main road in Pitlochry, easily accessible by road or rail - on the main A9 north, only 1.5/2 hours from Scotland's main cities, served by City Link, Megabus, National Express & Stagecoach and on the main London to Inverness train line. Iain Walker, the director ,is a former senior social worker.
