Brief description:

Forward Vision offers short breaks for young adults with multiple disabilities and a visual impairment. Short breaks can vary according to an individual’s needs and the family’s wishes, giving families a much needed rest. Young adults can have the opportunity to spend time with friends and enjoy a range of activities such as: • Hydrotherapy/swimming • Gardening • Parties • Social events/celebrations.

Full service description:

Forward Vision has been specifically designed to accommodate visually impaired and disabled young adults. Three adjoining bungalows offer spacious, fully accessible accommodation with en-suite facilities. Young adults have access to our sensory garden and hydrotherapy pool as well as a large garden and outside leisure area which can be used for a variety of activities including trampolining and barbecues.

What is included/not included in the price of the break:

Included: 24 hour staff cover, utilities, bed linen, towels, personal laundry, meals and beverages to include breakfast, lunch and evening meal, continence accessories, support with arranging transport and access to community facilities, support with accessing leisure and recreational activities, support with access to community health services. Not included: Payment for public transport, hair and beauty treatments, professional private chiropody services, magazines, CD's, DVD's, dry cleaning, alcoholic beverages, leisure and recreational activities, confectionery and snacks, toiletries and cosmetics, clothing, tobacco, private phone calls, meals outwith Forward Vision whilst on outings.

With sufficient notice respite breaks can be planned/booked in advance to allow a carer to arrange a break away from their caring role.
