Full service description:

Since 1996 Honeypot has been working to enhance the lives of young carers and vulnerable children aged 5-12 years by providing short breaks and ongoing wraparound support. We give young carers a break from demanding and stressful responsibilities at home and provide a safe, nurturing environment where children at risk can develop their full potential. We are proud to be the only charity in the UK offering consistent support throughout childhood through residential breaks at our three Honeypot Houses in England, Wales and Scotland. From the age of 5 until a child’s 13th birthday young carers can return each year for a break and other support.

We can offer young carers either a fun Memory Making Day out or a 3-day/2-night stay at our Dalleagles House in East Ayrshire, located in a beautiful rural setting. We collect children from their local communities in our minibus and bring them to our site where we provide a safe, supportive environment for them to relax, play, make friends and reduce their stress. The building is a former school and has been refurbished to facilitate this type of activity. It features bedrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and dining area, a library and play area, and an arts and crafts studio, an outdoor playground is planned, and ample space outdoors to be active and play. We also take the children on a fun field trip. Residential breaks take place during weekends and in school holidays. The children receive nutritious meals and snacks throughout their stay.
