Shared Care Scotland’s Lead Officer network is for local authority and health sector practitioners with a lead responsibility for planning, commissioning or coordinating carer support services, including short breaks and respite care provision. The purpose of the network is to share good practice, develop new approaches, and to contribute to national policy developments.
Our October meeting will focus on the theme of ‘What makes a Good Break’ – exploring ideas and preconceptions about what a short break means to those in an unpaid caring role. On this occasion we will be hosted by the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
The programme will include contributions from Eddie Fraser, Director, East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, Lee McLaughlin, the Partnership’s Thinking Differently Manager as well as inputs from Scottish Government’s Carers Policy team and a selection of short break providers and brokerage services. There will also be an opportunity to visit WG13’s Digital Hub to see the latest technology to support independent living.
