Join us at our webinar on Thursday 30th January at 12pm where we will be hearing from Colin Smith & Sharron Farrell from North Lanarkshire Carers Together. Colin and Sharron will be joining us to share their collaborative work on ‘Carer Breather’ services in North Lanarkshire
North Lanarkshire Carers Together (NLCT) launched their new referral guide for Carer Breather projects across North Lanarkshire for 2023-2025. Carer Breather projects support unpaid carers to have time out of their caring role in their local communities, or North Lanarkshire wide depending on need. Some services offer carer-specific support, while others provide support to carers and the person they care for together. There are 11 funded projects for 2023-2025 and carers can self-refer to a ‘Carer Breather’ service.
In June, North Lanarkshire Carers Together successfully secured continued and enhanced investment from University Health & Social Care for the Carer Breather programme. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting carers in North Lanarkshire, ensuring they have access to crucial short break opportunities as part of a broader strategy for prevention and early intervention.

What to expect:
Our monthly online learning events are really informal and aim to foster a community of learning exchange and practice development helping people to stay informed of emerging needs and practices.
We want to provide inspiration at a particularly challenging time for the health and social care sector. These sessions will help participants:
- share experiences and learn from others in the field.
- showcase personalised short breaks provision and practice - in action
- provide a stimulating space for innovative and strategic thinking which can lead to new ideas
There will be opportunity for discussion as well as the option to submit any questions.
