Edinburgh City
The Action Group - £19,367
Funding Period: 2015
Awarded funding in 2015 to support their weekend social group for young people with additional support needs in the transition period of leaving school and who live in Falkirk and surrounding areas. The group will take part in planned activities including outings, arts and crafts, game and music sessions and cinema trips. There will also be an opportunity to attend two activity residential weekends at established outdoor centers.
MECOPP - £27,038
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide day events and a residential event for disabled people and their carers from gypsy traveller communities in Scotland.
Bield Housing & Care - £9,000
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to continue increasing the evening care available for adults with dementia allowing carers some respite, and increase the numbers attending Mary’s Kitchen restaurant service, which provides a dining experience for families caring for a person with dementia.
Support in Mind Scotland - £23,996
Funding Period: 2015
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide a combination of structured activities for young people under 16 years of age living in Dundee and who have complex mental health needs. The plan is to built confidence and offer 1-1 support for the young person so they can access mainstream activities. The aim is that the young people can then access the activities without support.
VOCAL Carers Centre - £37,800
Funding Period: 2015-16
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide individual grants of around £300 directly to carers of adults living in Edinburgh to plan and pay for a short break of their choice.
Time to Live
Firsthand Lothian - £19,742
Funding Period: 2015
Awarded funding in 2015 to continue to provide a flexible service designed by parents & carers and the child around their needs. Support is in the home by a staff member or trained volunteer over 1 year with a maximum of 80 hours, allowing the carer the chance to take part in a social event or an activity or a break of their choice.
FABB Scotland - £28,760
Funding Period: 2015
Awarded funding in 2015 to continue their Blazing Saddles project making cycling accessible to disabled children and young people. There will be a 6 week introductory programme offering 8 weekly sessions for 60 disabled children and young people. They aim to provide 15 Cycle Out days during the school holidays in Easter, Summer, 3 themed bike weekends, one in Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Callander. They hope that the young people can attend 3 cycling events and festivals including Pedal for Scotland and establish a Bike Buddy Volunteering Scheme recruiting 12 bike buddies for new hubs.
Upward Mobility - £25,132
Funding Period: 2015
Awarded funding in 2015 to provide weekend residential holidays to young people who already take part in Upward Mobility workshops and have a learning disability and complex additional needs. The weekends will be sport-focussed or city breaks or film- and-theatre breaks. Each break will accommodate 6 young people supported by staff from Upward Mobility.
RNIB Scotland - £31,657
Funding Period: 2015
Awarded funding in 2015 to continue their Activate Project supporting children and young people with visual impairment to participate in social and recreational activities. They aim to offer 10 children & young people aged 11-13 a weekend residential camp, 15 young people aged 14-18 will take part in a weekend camp. In addition around 30 families will participate in a family fun days in Aberdeen and a further 30 in Dundee. Around 20 children and young people and their carers will be offered the opportunity to take part in a family residential weekend.
Orcadia Creative Learning Centre - £8,000
Funding Period: 2015
Awarded funding in 2015 to continue to provide an evening youth group for 15 young people aged 15-19 with learning disabilities. The group runs from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday evenings. A 3:1 ratio has been planned but this can increase to 1-1 if required. The young people can take part in activities and transport is included.
