Marjory's story - rediscovering joy, one serve at a time
Marjory provides full-time care for her son, who lives with severe Epilepsy, cognitive impairment, and paralysis. Due to the extent of his disabilities, he is unable to communicate his needs or carry out even the simplest tasks. Marjory supports him in every aspect of daily life - from personal care to emotional support - making this an exceptionally demanding and continuous caring role. Her personal interest is playing tennis, which she can enjoy only occasionally and when her partner is available to take over caring responsibilities. Outside of those rare moments of calm, Marjory is with her son constantly.
Marjory applied to Time to Live for a tennis club membership to help give her a break.
Marjory said:
"Playing tennis benefits my physical health, and I’ve made wonderful friendships. For a short while, I can step away from the constant demands of caring and focus on something that brings me joy, easing stress and giving me the energy to keep going."
