About this funding
The Better Breaks programme provides 12 month grants to third sector organisations to develop and deliver short breaks projects and services for children and young people with disabilities (aged 20 and under), and their carers (adult carers and/or young carers). The Better Breaks programme also aims to improve access to mainstream community services and opportunities for children and young people with disabilities.
A total of £1.25 million was awarded to almost 80 projects across Scotland in the last round of Better Breaks funding. The 2018 round of the Better Breaks programme will open for applications in October 2017.
Information for carers
Direct funding for short breaks for families is available through the Take a Break Scotland programme, administered by the Family Fund.
