Don has been Chief Executive of Shared Care Scotland since January 2006. Prior to this he worked with the international leadership development charity Common Purpose, and before this he was with The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award organisation.
During 16 years with Shared Care, the organisation has significantly grown its role and influence with the development of the third sector Short Breaks Fund and Respitality standing out as special milestones along this journey.
Another milestone was our hosting of the 10th International Short Breaks Association conference in Edinburgh in 2016. We welcomed delegates from 21 countries around the world to the capital and spent an inspirational four days exchanging ideas and making many new acquaintances that we remain in touch with to this day.
Don's specific role here at Shared Care is to work closely with our Board of Directors and staff team to set the direction of the organisation, mindful of the ever-changing landscape within which we deliver our work.
